Make Image Transparent

Upload a photo and let AI remove the background. Your first image is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

How to Make an Image Transparent in 3 Steps

1. Add your image. Choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP from your phone or computer, or drop it into the tool above. The tool takes one image at a time. If your image is larger than 4096px on the longest side, it is resized in your browser before upload. The shortest side needs at least 256px.

2. Remove the background. Press the button. The AI finds the subject on its own and removes everything around it. Hair and other soft edges keep a gentle fade instead of a hard cut line.

3. Check it and download. Your result appears on a checkerboard, so you can see exactly which parts are transparent. Happy with it? Click Download PNG. That is all it takes to make an image transparent, with no app and no design skills.

Free Transparent Image Maker for Photos, Pictures and Product Shots

Transparent Maker is a free tool for the pictures you actually need to clean up. Want to make an image transparent without learning an editor? Start here. Your first image costs nothing, needs no account and carries no watermark.

Selling on Etsy, Amazon or Shopify? Cut your product out of a messy table shot, then drop the PNG onto a clean backdrop in your own store or design tool. Building a slide deck? Drop a logo or headshot onto your slide without a white box around it. Making a YouTube thumbnail, a sticker or a profile picture? Cut out the face or object and put it anywhere.

Need to make a picture transparent for a poster or a mockup? The steps are the same. Want to make a photo transparent behind the subject, so you can place it on any color? Same steps again. You upload a JPG, PNG or WEBP, and you get a PNG back that opens in any editor, store or slide app.

Make Background Transparent Automatically with AI

You do not have to trace your subject by hand. The AI looks at your image, decides what the main subject is and removes the rest. Use it to make the background transparent in one click, then preview the result before you download. Logos, portraits and product shots all go through the same steps.

Transparent Maker works as a transparent background maker for everyday photos: people, pets, products, logos and objects. It also produces soft alpha transitions along edges such as hair, so the subject blends into whatever background you place it on in your editor or slide.

Your image is uploaded and processed in the cloud, then the result comes back to your browser as a PNG. If a removal fails, your credit is returned automatically, so a failed try costs you nothing.

Transparent Image vs Transparent Photo: What's the Difference

People search both ways, and the tool treats the two terms the same. One means any picture file with see-through areas, such as a logo, an icon, a sticker or a cut-out product. A transparent photo is the same idea applied to a photograph, where a real person, pet or object stays and the background goes.

The difference is the starting point. A logo usually has flat shapes and clean edges. A photo has hair, shadows and fine detail. Both end as the same kind of file: a PNG with an alpha channel, which stores how see-through each pixel is.

Upload either one. If you need a transparent image generator for a logo, or a transparent photo for a store listing, the steps are identical. The AI handles both cases automatically, so you never choose a mode.

What Is a Transparent Maker?

A transparent maker is a tool that removes the background from a picture and saves the result with transparency. Transparent Maker is our version, a transparent background maker built for one job: take your JPG, PNG or WEBP and return a PNG with a transparent background.

Think of it as an image transparent maker for people who are not designers. Use it whenever you need to make an image transparent: logos, product photos, portraits, profile pictures and screenshots. Nothing to install, because it runs in any modern browser, including iPhone and Android. Photoshop and Canva stay optional.

Your first image is free. Sign up with a verified email or Google for 2 more free credits, valid for 14 days. After that, credit packs start at $4.99 for 50 images, and there is no subscription.

Why Transparent Images Must Be PNG

Only some file types can store transparency, and PNG is the one every browser, editor and store accepts. A JPG cannot hold see-through pixels. It fills them with a solid color, usually white. That is why a logo saved as a JPG shows a white box on a colored slide.

PNG adds an alpha channel, a layer that records how transparent each pixel is. That layer keeps soft edges smooth on any background. WEBP can store transparency too, but PNG is the safest choice for sharing, because nearly every program opens it.

So the tool always gives you a PNG. Want to create a transparent image from a JPG? Upload it, remove the background and download the PNG. Renaming a JPG to .png does not add transparency. The background has to be removed first.
